At the weekend box office “Predator: Badlands” — the ninth entry in the popular franchise — devoured the competition, debuting at $40 million. Well behind in second place was the latest novel turned movie from author Colleen Hoover. “Regretting You” earned just $7.1 million… and the horror sequel “Black Phone 2” starring Ethan Hawke came in third.
This year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions happened Saturday in LA. Cyndi Lauper was inducted by Chappell Roan, Soundgarden were inducted with help from Jim Carrey and Taylor Momsen. Other inductees included Outkast, White Stripes, Bad Company, Chubby Checker and Joe Cocker received a posthumous induction.
Millie Bobby Brown has revealed that one of her Stranger Things costars is the godfather of her baby daughter. Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers, has the title. He also has more of a central storyline in the upcoming season 5
Jeremy Renner denies allegations from director Yi Zhou that he sent her unsolicited nudes, and threatened to call ICE on her. Renner’s attorney claims that SHE “relentlessly and aggressively harassed and pursued” HIM.
And Canadian actor Mike Smith, who plays Bubbles on the Trailer Park Boys, has been charged with sexual assault in Halifax.
