There were two bear sightings in Owen Sound yesterday.
Police got the first call around 10:30 in the morning after a bear cub was seen in the playground of Dufferin School.
The bear cub was spotted in the top of a tree in the 11-hundred block of 2nd Avenue West.
The Owen Sound Fire Department was called to bring their ladder truck and bucket.
Tranquilizers and a pole snare were used and the cub was safely removed from the tree and taken to an area outside the city in hopes it would find it's mother.
The second bear sighting was called in by a man who saw a large bear rubbing against a shed at the north end of a right-of-way that runs between 11th and 12th Street West parallel to 2nd Avenue West.
It was close to the same area where the cub was found.
Personnel from the MNR assisted police in the search that last for over an hour, but the large bear was not found.
Officials believe she made her way back out of the city to the west.

Staff and students at the newly-named Goderich Public School held an open house last night to give the community a chance to see the renovations to the former Robertson Public School.
The students of both Robertson and Victoria spent last year at Victoria School while the renovations and additions were being made to the Robertson building.
And principal Deb Gill says that has turned out to be an excellent decision because students from both former schools have spent time in the other's building and now they're together in what is essentially a new school.
Students planted a tree in the yard yesterday and last night there was a barbecue and a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the new Goderich Public School.

Candidates running in the municipal election next month are starting to get their signs up.
But there are some rules regarding the placement of election signs.
Huron County's Director of Public Works says signs are permitted on the back slope of a ditch but not on the front slope where they would interfere with maintenance like cutting the grass.
Dave Laurie says corners are also very popular spots for election signs and as long as they don't interfere with visibility and traffic sight lines they're OK.
All signs are to be removed within five days after the election.
