11 Huron Bruce groups get Trillum Grants

Eleven organizations serving residents in Huron and Bruce are sharing in more than $450,000 of funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
Huron Bruce Conservative MPP Lisa Thompson announced the funding this morning.
The largest allotment of $116,800 goes to the Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation to support a three-part beach conservation effort.
Other recipients include the Dungannon Seniors Citizen's Centre, the Optimist Club of Brussels, and the Huron-Perth Centre for Children and Youth.
Here are the individual listings:

1) The Bruce Community Futures Development Corporation will recieved $60,000 over two years to hire a project manager who will implement the recommendations of the Seniors Needs Analysis of Bruce County and the City of Owen Sound.

2) Dungannon Senior Citizens Centre $45,600 over one year To renovate the lower level of this community seniors centre with a fully accessible washroom and updated kitchen area.

3) The Optimist Club of Brussels $8,400 over one year to purchase snowshoe sets for the Environmental Learning Grounds in Ethel, which will help to provide all local youth with more and better opportunities to participate in this physical activity in the wintertime.

4) Goderich Ringette Association Inc. $6,200 over one year To purchase goalie equipment, shot clocks and materials for coaches.

5) Huron-Perth Centre For Children and Youth $75,000 over one year to complete leasehold improvements to the relocated site of the organization's Stratford office. That will enable it to better serve the needs of children and youth in Perth County who are mentally, emotionally or physically disadvantaged.

6) Kincardine Theatre Guild $30,500 over one year for upgrades to the Kincardine Centre for the Arts.

7) Kinloss Community Centre $10,000 over one year to replace the centre's water system with a new well, pump and pipeline.

8) Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation $116,800 over one year to support a three-part beach conservation program.

9) Municipality of Brockton $39,000 over one year to renovate the Walkerton Library.

10) Royal Canadian Legion Branch 180-Wingham $46,300 over one year to make the facility fully accessible to people of all abilities in the community.

11) St. Peter's Lutheran Church $15,000 over one year to create a parkette that is both separate from the church site in Zurich and fully accessible to people of all abilities in the community.
